We are continually improving the Data Exchange: enhancing our platform, updating our training materials, and as new programs come onboard we update our policy documents.

If you subscribe you can select what types of updates you want to receive: system notifications; policy updates; training; news and general updates; and portal and technical updates.

Current notifications

Outage notice: Please be advised the Australian Tax Office will be conducting system maintenance and myGovID will be unavailable from Thursday 27th January 2022 11:30pm AEDT to Friday 28th January 2022 7:00am AEDT. During this period, users will not be able to access the Data Exchange or Data Exchange Reports. A notification will appear in the myGovID application to inform you when this service is unavailable. We apologise for any inconvenience.
If you are submitting data via the Bulk Upload function, please check your files uploaded successfully before the system close on 30 January 2022. You can view the status of your file upload on the ‘View uploaded files’ within the DEX Portal. If the status is ‘Failed’, expand the row to download the error file. You can then resubmit corrected data for any records which failed to upload. Screenshots are available in the Data Exchange Monthly Update, please subscribe at the bottom of the page if you haven’t already done so.

The end of the January to June 2019 reporting period is coming up fast.

Revision of Protocols Appendix B

The “Appendix B – Commonwealth Agencies” document was updated on 14 February 2019. This update is for Forced Adoption Support Services service types and definitions.

Revision of Protocols Appendices A & B

The “Program activity guidance” and “Service type matrix” documents were updated on 31 January 2019. The “Program activity guidance” document has been split to detail Commonwealth and State Agencies.

Report Updates

Recently we revised many of the Data Exchange reports through enhancements and changes. Report contents have been tailored for screen resolutions of 1680×1050 and 1920×1080.

Helpdesk End of Year Availability

As we get ready for the Department’s close-down period, we’d like to advise you that the Helpdesk will not be available from 12:30pm on the 24 December 2018 to 8:30 am 2 January 2019.

Update to Protocols

The Data Exchange Protocols have been updated to reflect the 19 August 2018 Data Exchange system enhancements and changes to the SCORE framework.

Tips for protecting clients privacy

Now that we have completed the January to June reporting period, and have already started work on the July to December period, organisations are reminded of their privacy obligations that they should not share log on details between staff.
